Welcome to the Goodwife's blog! Here I write about our lives and the journey God is taking us on. It's a wild and wonderful ride, full of happiness and the occasional heartbreak, but the one constant is our love for Jesus Christ and our faith that God has a plan for us! We strive to submit to His will for our lives in all ways. We try to be good stewards of the land and animals God has blessed us with.
How cute!!! I had to watch it twice. The board between the wood blocks makes a great play toy for them. That last little guy is a hoot! I would have been laughing too hard to even take the video. You did a great job holding the camera still. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Brenda! That crazy wild man is Osiris. We are retaining him for a future herd sire, and he's a total nut job! I've got lots more video from yesterday afternoon of him running around like a goon! How is your kidding season coming along?
I have to laugh just thinking about him acting so silly!
We've just weaned the first group of kids that we are keeping and were born in January. The second group born is around 5 weeks old and doing great. I have 2 does in kidding pens that will probably deliver by the weekend. .... Then there are ALL those first fresheners that will be spreading my kidding season out into May!! I'm not keeping the buck that I had with them. It took him months to get them pregnant and not all of them were pregnant when I took him out during the first of January! I'll definitely be using a different buck for that group next season.
I really don't like not knowing when their due dates are. I'm keeping a very close eye on them!
I've always told hubby I wanted a goat - now I have to have two... What could make you smile every day! What kind do I need (no milkers and not overly big) and then what fencing keeps the little critters in? --- cute cute video! Wouldn't Lenny love them!
Hey Country Girl! If you don't wan milk and you just want cute factor, I'd go with pygmys. I would never ever keep goats without hot wire, that's just my opinion. My goats are very respectful of the electric wire and don't get out. Also I'd just get two wethers (castrated boys) and trust me you'll have SO much fun with them!
