We've Got Babies! On the Quail Report....

This morning before work we had two eggs with disturbances in the shell.  The tiniest of little "earthquake plates" where the baby quail are using their egg tooth to break out of their snug homes.  I have no pictures of this as it was before work, and I had no time.

However, we came home from work to this....

How stinkin' cute is this little pooper??!!  

Oh wow, they are just precious!  So far we've got 5 hatched and out, and so many more working on it.

I'll leave you with a baby quail video.........this guy had already hatched out and then gotten himself into a bit of a pickle!

New life never ceases to amaze me!  The grand design of our Creator is simply amazing!!

You never doubt if you are needed when you have critters!  They are always happy to see you and give you some love, never mind that it's because you feed them, we'll just gloss over that part!

As you can see we are still in love with our Gloucestershire Old Spot hogs! 

They are growing like weeds and still as loving as ever. Luanne isn't near as much of a cuddle bug at Ed Earl, but I think that is probably because she is half Poland China and Ed Earl is full G.O.S......

Shine On.........

I follow the blog of a wonderful woman named Lara Katherine Mountain Colley.  She is a mountain woman, in love with the land and I really enjoy her blog.  Recently she did a post on her blog A Mountain Hearth about the artist May Erlewine.  I'd never heard of May and Seth before, but I'm now a big, big fan. 

I realize they've been around a while and I'm a little late to the party, but boy do I really like them a lot.  May's voice reminds me so much of Janis Joplin.......in every good way there is.  They are both beautiful and soulful and wonderful and I just had to share!

The song in the clip below is Shine On and it moved me so, that I've listened to it about 10 times in a row!

ps....thanks Flower Lady and Lara for reminding me of how JanIS Joplin's name is actually spelled.......whoops!

If you are wondering about the panel laying on the ground in this video, it is there to prevent my piggies from rooting in that area.  The creek runs through there, and we laid the panel down and wired it to the fence so they won't excavate in the creek bed right there and get it deep enough to get out.......


Ed Earl is a slave to belly rubs........while he was exploring his new home, he'd come over to one of us once in awhile to get a nice scratch........

If you haven't seen this, you should.  It gives me hope that all is not lost for our great country!!  Such a sweet voice this little one has and such a great crowd of spectators.

Nothing brings tears to my eyes like a good rendition of our National Anthem, and this is just lovely, a testament to the number of good people there are in the world!

Quilting Tutorial.......The Goodwife, Live and Unscripted.........

That crazy, beautiful gal over at "Go West" Feral Woman requested some more quilting info, so I've attempted a hand quilting tutorial. Isis and Osiris and Their Movie Debut..........

This is what I did last night, while waiting on Miss Naomi to get herself in gear and have some babies!

New Life.......

This is an edited video of the birth of the twins. It is a birthing video so it's kinda gooey, so if that bothers you, don't watch it! The twin that you are seeing born is Isis, the doeling, the second born. Star was tired after having a hard time pushing Osiris into the world, and as you may remember I really had to pull him! Also......please excuse my voice.......but I'm givin' my girl some encouragement to keep on going! Tulip watch 2010 has begun..........stay tuned for more updates!
