A Perfect World......My Thoughts on God and Freewill.......

Oh oh, here we go..........the Goodwife's been thinkin' again.  I was just vaccuming my hardwood floors when this popped into my head.  As you know, if it pops in, I gotta let it out and share it with you all.......so here we go.

God gave us free will.  He could have made us robots, or dummies, or I don't know what, but He chose instead to make us human, full of failings and oh so very full of free will.  We have so many choices in our day to day lives.  God doesn't force us to do the right thing.  He usually doesn't strike us down in the midst of a bad choice, no matter how bad or even evil that choice is.  That's because He wants us to repent and He wants us to have the chance to make the right choice the next time.  That's powerful love, that is.

Being Christian isn't about living in a bubble away from temptations and the world.  It's about being faced with evil and temptations every day and making the right Godly decision.  God put us all here in the midst of immorality and decay and said Do the right thing even when the wrong thing is easier or more fun.  I used to think abortion wouldn't exist in a perfect world.  Now I think in a perfect world, abortion would be an option, but no one would ever do it, because even though evil would exist, humans would rise above it the way God wants us to.  Ya know??

It's very hard to convey what I want to in the written word.  I'm a much better oral communicator, but I hope you got at least the gist of what I was saying.  As always, feel free to comment and disagree and as long as you keep the hate out, I'll leave 'em up!

Till next time..........God Bless!

  1. I like the way you think. Really, I do. Maybe because I agree with you so often. ;)

  3. I too like your thoughts. Though I feel I must comment on Tonia's comment. From a theologically based standpoint angels do have free will, which can be seen in the fall of Lucifer, one of the greatest angels, and the angels that followed him from heaven to hell. That I believe is a free choice on their part - constituting in free will. Just my two cents from my Christian Theology course this last semester. :D

  4. I agree with you and like so many say or even I'm sure you've heard.... If God is a loving God why does He allow bad things to happen. I was once told by a very wise Christian woman, we as parents love our children and as much as we try to protect them we can't stop all bad things from happening to them, what is important is that we are there to pick them up, comfort and love them. God does the very same thing for those who seek His comfort and love.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I got the gist of what your were trying to convey ;o)

  6. I would also have to agree. If we never went through bad things we would know that we need God. If there was no evil we would not fully understand good.

  7. ITA - While I respect all religious views, I still don't agree with them all. Where I live we come into contact with a lot of Amish and Minonite sects. I respect their restraint and wish that I had more discipline to live closer to their simpler lifestyle. HOWEVER, I do not agree with the way they seem to "hide" from the world. I understand the concept of not raising your children around bad influences, but there comes a point where you have to either trust your children to make the right choices, just like God does with us as you stated.

  8. Beautifully put! You certainly DO express yourself well. I absolutely agree with you. Our choices are what allows us to learn and progress!

  9. So far, we've only seen a few tarballs, but that was only one day. The water is still clear and the sand is still white. Just yesterday, I watched dolphins playing in the Gulf. We're hoping and praying the clean up efforts can keep our home beautiful, but we know we have very difficult days in store. Thanks for visiting our blog. We're enjoying yours, BTW.
