Thankful for Unanswered Prayers.............

For so long I was wrapped up in wanting to move.  I always wanted to live out of Illinois, always yearning to be in Montana, or Florida, or Alabama.  After our last vacation to Florida and the subsequent resolving of The Crisis, God instilled in me such an appreciation for this beautiful patch of earth He has blessed us to be the stewards of.  This afternoon I took Champ over to graze at the neighbor's and I just lay back in the grass and soaked up the beauty of the land around me.  Standing at the barn looking to the back of our pasture with the sun going down in the west...........the beauty nearly moves me to tears!  God is good, and He knows what we need even when we haven't got a clue!

God Bless.............

  2. Just beautiful! It's amazing He knows what's best for us even when we don't. Just takes time for us to see it.

  4. The grass isn't always greener on the other side - the manure still stinks over there too, Haha. I always said I was gettin' the heck outta TH when I was growing up, I just didn't realize I was going 20 miles east to a smaller town! But I love it here even if everyone back in TH thinks I'm crazy. It's funny what God has in store for us sometimes He takes us to places we'd never dream of going, and sometimes he shows us a path right out our back door.

That is oh so true. I have been in your shoes, in wanting to leave this place. But it is actually a blessing in our lives, and I am appreciating it all the more these days.

    Thank you for this post.

  6. Being Content with where we are at or with what we have is a big thing for me.. Growing up around people that have never had enough no matter what their cars were or where they lived impacted me a lot. As I watched them through the years lose relationships with spouses and kids, lose their homes, and just being so unhappy they lash out at others. I am thankful for my parents impressing on me being happy and content with what we had.. Good things really do come to those that wait....
    Beautiful Picture.....
